Adapt has been established to provide a new tailored approach to gaining the necessary awards in Domestic Energy Assessment, Home Inspection and Valuation.

The Management Team

Barbara Watt, Managing Director - A consultant with over 20 years in both industry and further and higher education. Within education Barbara designed innovative vocational post-graduate courses that won her Government awards and landed her students in successful postings in industry and government. She has spent the last few years assisting the Government in the research stage of the Home Inspector qualification and the essential Inspection and Reporting Requirements (IRR) for the Home Inspector. Barbara now sits on various Government Steering Groups related to the new qualifications of the Energy Assessor both for domestic and non-domestic. This wealth of knowledge and experience has been shared with everyone she encounters in business decoding the jargon and facilitating the process to success for all who have turned to her for advice.

Steve Owen, Technical Director - Chartered Surveyor with over 25 years in the industry. He has a wealth of technical and industry knowledge built up from senior roles in Black Horse Surveyors and BBG Surveyors to his more recent role as Technical Director of SPS Surveyors where he was responsible for the whole training and development of around 200 chartered surveyors as well as designing and introducing a best practice regime throughout some 50 offices to maintain high quality in every part of the business process. He is a qualified Home Inspector - one of the first to be qualified in this country - and qualified Assessor. Steve has a close involvement with the Awarding Body designing the qualification and sits on the examination committee.

Steve's background of ensuring quality compliance across a national surveying company and managing the development of chartered surveyors means he is now in an ideal position to introduce this same thinking into adapt. Steve's particular blend of patience and his reassuring guidance together with sound technical knowledge has been welcomed by all his candidates. He shares this same approach and philosophy with adapt's team of Assessors across all qualifications.
