adapt
valuation - bolt on modules to the home inspector diploma

Are you are studying for your Diploma in Home Inspection or have qualified?

If so this puts you in an ideal position to extend your knowledge into the field of residential valuation.

Only qualified Home Inspectors or those in training can take the further valuation qualification that will enable you to carry out valuations on residential property on behalf of mortgage lenders and prospective buyers.

The course is competence based. Your work experience and body of evidence (some of which you may use from your Home Inspector course) is assessed. There will be a requirement to submit valuations undertaken on a range of properties. Candidates then need to pass an external exam set by the Awarding Body of the Built Environment, ABBE.

This top-up valuation qualification together with your Home Inspector Diploma will enable you to present your portfolio of work for the assessment for TechRICS, which, in turn is a way to RICS membership. (visit www.rics.org/hiatc)

The training programme is based on National Occupational Standards and the qualification is set by the Quality Curriculum Authority (QCA).

The course will be offered via a mixture of face to face events and distance learning.

The timescale to complete the valuation course, based on the candidate having completed the Technical Training Programme of the Home Inspector course and generated Home Condition Reports, could be in the region of between five to nine months.
