HIPs Go Live on 1 June 2007

We understand that there is concern regarding what was said in the budget regarding HIPs. Any suggestion that HIPs will not go ahead on June 1st is untrue and a complete non-story. The Government's position is crystal clear - HIPs and EPCs will be introduced on the 1 June. Absolutely nothing has been said which contradicts this. EPCs will be produced before properties are put on the market so that buyers are informed about the energy efficiency of their prospective home before they make an offer. We recognise that there are some vested interests who continue to oppose HIPs - the Government and green groups support them because we are serious about tackling climate change, reducing carbon emissions and improving the home buying and selling market. We urge everyone to support these efforts.
